Blood Lamp
A branding and packaging solution for a designer's bizarre invention.
Designer Mike Thompson created a bizarre invention to bring awareness to the human consumption of energy called the Blood Lamp. With the mixture of the chemical Luminol and with iron, found in red blood cells, the compound glowed blue for only a few hours. To assist in the enlightenment of this invention, I decided to brand it. The conservation of energy needs to be recognized, and marketing this 'product' is my way of sharing it with the world.
I created a glass piece for the chemical to be held in, created a suspension solution and a package for the product.
